Blizzard Entertainment's "Perked Up" event for Overwatch 2 has entered its second phase, offering players new opportunities to earn exclusive rewards and experience the recently introduced Perks system. Running from February 25 to March 4, 2025, this phase continues the celebration of Season 15's innovations, enhancing gameplay and player engagement.
In this phase, players are tasked with completing two straightforward challenges: finishing 15 matches in any game mode, with victories counting double. Upon completion, participants are rewarded with 10 free loot boxes, each containing a variety of in-game cosmetics. This initiative aims to encourage active participation and provide tangible incentives for both new and veteran players.

The loot boxes awarded during the event come in two varieties: regular and legendary. Both types draw from the same extensive pool of items, which includes 530 legendary, 834 epic, 1,172 rare, and 2,675 common cosmetics. While regular loot boxes offer a chance at these items, legendary loot boxes guarantee at least one legendary cosmetic, increasing the likelihood of obtaining high-value skins such as the "Young Genji" skin.

A significant addition in Season 15 is the Perks system, designed to enhance strategic depth and customization in gameplay. Each hero now possesses four unique Perks: two minor and two major. As players progress through a match, they can unlock these Perks, starting with minor enhancements like reduced ability cooldowns or passive bonuses, and advancing to major Perks that significantly alter a hero's capabilities. For instance, Torbjörn's major Perk allows his turret to be anchored to walls or ceilings, introducing new tactical possibilities. The Perked Up event encourages players to explore these new dynamics by integrating Perks into the event challenges. This approach not only familiarizes players with the system but also enriches the overall gaming experience by promoting diverse playstyles and strategies.

Beyond in-game challenges, Blizzard has expanded the event's reach through community-driven initiatives. Players can acquire exclusive skins such as "Rainy Day Mei" and "Rainy Day Tracer" by participating in Twitch Drops and the Support-a-Streamer program, respectively. These collaborations between Blizzard and content creators aim to foster a vibrant community atmosphere and reward players for their engagement both in and out of the game.
